This incredible onboard footage of world’s largest plane landing crooked during recent Christchurch gales, proves that our trust in the Emirates A380 is really worth! A passenger aboard the plane filmed remarkable footage of their gusty landing in Christchurch and said he had shivers when he saw how crooked the plane was.
The whole cabin of the Emirates A380 started shaking 10 minutes before landing but the pilots kept everything well under control. Being a big bird, it definitely felt like the winds were quite high. And they were! On Monday more than 80 flights around the country were cancelled as the South Island grappled with extremely strong winds. That included many flights into Christchurch.

Finally the Emirates flight made a perfect landing and set the 525 people on board safe and well on the ground in New Zealand. A big relief for the passengers seeing it all live in action on their screens. But also another proof of the professional competence of the Emirates pilots and the technical qualities they can rely on of this European designed Airbus A380.
